LOUISIANA ST. NO. 1 IN CB’S FINAL 2023 POLL 

TUCSON, Ariz. — Louisiana St. is ranked No. 1 in the final 2023 Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division I baseball poll presented by Big League Chew bubble gum.

The Tigers captured their seventh national title in baseball with a resounding 18-4 win over Florida at the College World Series. LSU was ranked No. 1 by Collegiate Baseball in its pre-season poll compiled last December while Florida was ranked second. LSU was ranked No. 1 by Collegiate Baseball 13 times in 2023.

LSU (54-17) won 11 of 13 games during the 2023 NCAA Tournament, sweeping Regional and Super Regional opponents before winning the national championship in Omaha.

The Tigers captured five national titles (1991, 1993, 1996, 1997 and 200 under legendary Head Coach Skip Bertman and added a sixth under Coach Paul Mainieri.

Poll Notes: The final eight teams were all ranked in the Collegiate Baseball pre-season poll released last December, including seven in the top 16.

The Collegiate Baseball newspaper poll is the oldest college baseball poll. Its birth took place during the 1959 college baseball season.
