LOUISIANA ST. NO. 1 IN COLLEGIATE BASEBALL POLL
TUCSON, Ariz. — Louisiana St. (55-9) is ranked No. 1 in Collegiate Baseball newspaper’s NCAA Division I baseball poll after winning the Baton Rouge Regional with a 3-0 record.
This marks the third time this season LSU has been ranked No. 1 in the Collegiate Baseball poll. The Tigers have won six in a row heading into Super Regional competition.
Poll Notes: The top six teams in the nation remain the same this week as each won their respective regional. Five teams fell out of the poll this week in New Mexico, Mississippi, South Alabama, Sam Houston St. and Coastal Carolina. New to the poll are five teams which finished second in different regionals, including Florida Atlantic, Central Arkansas, Liberty, William & Mary and Austin Peay.
The Collegiate Baseball newspaper poll is the oldest college baseball poll. Its birth took place during the 1957 college baseball season.
