COLLEGIATE BASEBALL NEWSPAPER
POLL
TUCSON, Ariz. — Miami, Fla. (50-8) has been
ranked No. 1 for the sixth time in the last seven weeks in Collegiate
Baseball newspaper’s NCAA Division I baseball poll.
The Hurricanes captured the Coral Gables
Regional over the past weekend with three wins over Bethune-Cookman, Missouri
and Mississippi. Overall, Miami has won seven straight.
Poll Notes:
Louisiana St. (46-16-1), ranked second, has now
won 23 consecutive games, the longest winning streak in school history. The top
16 teams in the poll this week will all be involved in Super
Regional action this weekend. Teams that fell out of the poll were Florida (0-2
at Tallahassee Regional) and Virginia (1-2 at Fullerton Regional). New to the
poll this week is Fresno St. (captured Long Beach Regional) and Georgia Tech.
(finished second at Athens Regional).
The Collegiate
Baseball newspaper poll is the oldest college baseball poll. Its birth
took place during the 1957 college baseball season.
