"LOUISVILLE SLUGGER'S" NATIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

RHP Alex Silverman, Brown: Silverman struck out 16 Yale batters in just seven innings on Senior Day to pick up the win in his first ever complete game. He allowed just 2 hits and came within one of Brown's single-game strikeout record. He set what is believed to be the school's 7-inning game strikeout mark. Silverman allowed just five fair balls to be hit out of the infield.

RHP Stephen Strasburg, San Diego St.: Strasburg threw a 1-hit complete game in San Diego State's 4-1 win over Texas Christian as he struck out 13 batters. It marked his second 9-inning 1-hitter in his last three starts. He retired the first 18 batters he faced before a leadoff double in the seventh. A wild pitch and ground out to second scored the only run by TCU. He now has struck out 61 in his last four games over 31 innings, almost two per inning.

1B Osvaldo Torres, Bethune-Cookman: Torres blasted 4 home runs as he went 7-for-15 at the plate. He also collected two doubles and two sacrifice flies in addition to walking 5 times and being hit by a pitch. His slugging percentage was 1.615.
