TUCSON, Ariz. — Tulane has been ranked No. 1 in Collegiate Baseball newspaper’s NCAA Division I baseball poll for the eighth straight week.

The Green Wave (50-9) has won 30 of their last 34 games and were 3-0 last week as Tulane captured a share of the Conference USA tournament title after rain washed out the championship game against Texas Christian.

The Yellow Jackets also won the regular season ACC title. Nebraska, which has won 10 of its last 11 games, rebounded from a first round loss in the Big 12 Conference tournament to win five straight for the championship. The title game saw the Cornhuskers post a 1-0 victory over the Baylor Bears. Baylor, which posted 3-1 record last week in finishing second at the Big 12 tournament, knocked off Texas for the fourth straight time this season. The Bears were ranked sixth this week while the Longhorns fell to seventh. Rice won five consecutive games to close out its regular season schedule. The only team to fall out of the top 30 this week was Creighton which posted a 4-2 record as Mississippi St. jumped into the No. 30 slot after winning the Southeastern Conference tournament with four consecutive victories.

The Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll is the oldest college baseball poll. Its birth took place during the 1957 college baseball season.
