RHP Ryan Zink, Illinois-Chicago: Zink became the 10th pitcher in Illinois-Chicago history to hurl a no-hitter as he blanked Youngstown State, 7-0 while striking out 10 batters in a 7-inning contest. It was the first no-hitter at the school since the 1997 season. Earlier in the week, Zink tossed three innings of scoreless relief in a 9-3 win over Northwestern. The sweep was the first time in the 108-year history of Texas baseball that the Longhorns were blanked in both ends of a doubleheader. Rogers struck out 10, walked one and allowed three hits. Sterry struck out 11, walked two and allowed only three hits.
