MIAMI, FLA. NO. 1 IN COLLEGIATE BASEBALL NEWSPAPER (www.baseballnews.com) POLL

TUCSON, Ariz. — For the third week in a row, Miami, Fla. (49-12) has been ranked No. 1 in the Collegiate Baseball newspaper NCAA Division I baseball poll.

The Hurricanes, which have won a season-high 13 consecutive games, won two straight against Clemson in its Super Regional over the past weekend. Miami qualified for the College World Series for the 19th time.

Southern California, ranked second, has won 15 of its last 16 games and won two straight over Florida International during its Super Regional. The Trojans qualified for the College World Series for the 21st time. Only one point separates Miami and Southern California for the third straight week.

POLL NOTES: Several other teams have been red hot. Nebraska, Cal. St. Fullerton and Tennessee each rolled through their Super Regionals with perfect 2-0 records.

The Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll is the oldest college baseball poll. Its birth took place during the 1957 college baseball season.
