RIP COACH…YOUR WERE THE BEST OF THE BEST! I played on the 1974 National Championship team at Lewis. I didn’t play high school baseball because the school didn’t have a baseball team at the time, but yet coach gave me a chance to compete and succeed in baseball and in life…My Dad passed away 6 months ago and now COACH…Love you DAD…. Love you COACH…

Over fifty two years ago in 1963 Gordie Gillespie also was part of day camps for kids from Lockport,Ilinois .He picked up My sisters and I and a few other kids from Lockport and I think it was Camp JoyDaycare in Shorewood is where we went to camp .He made the trip to very interesting by doing something interesting or showing us places each time he drove us to camp . I remember one day when we arrived at camp we were driving slow on a one lane dirt road and he pretended that the car was trying to drive off the road but the car never left the road and we knew we were safe and he was just trying to get our attention and he was a excllent driver and you could always trust him , but it did make it for a interesting trip. He always did a good job of keeping are attention and keeping the camp busy with games and projects and all the kids at camp loved having him around he was one of the best friends you could ever have when you were were a kid.

Gordie Gillespie was My Baseball Coach, My Friend and the Reason for My Success in Life! I have Played for Many Great Coaches in High School, College and in the Pros. They all must have Learned From Gordie. He always would say and make you feel your were the Best!

I Will Never Forget you and will Love you for the rest of my Life.
